For the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter, they came out with limited edition house copies of the Philosopher's Stone. Being a huge Harry Potter fan, I of course had to get myself one of these and also being a proud Ravenclaw, I bought the hardcover Ravenclaw edition.

First, the cover is so pretty, it's black with the title, J.K. Rowling's name and the Ravenclaw house badge in blue. Then the edges of the book are blue with gold stripes on it. Basically, it looks amazing. Also, when the dust cover is removed, it just reveals a black cover but for some reason, it's pretty.

Basically, it's just a normal Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone but with a few added extras into it and a nice cover. So the extras in the book are basically all around Ravenclaw so there are some about Rowena Ravenclaw, the house founder, about memorable Ravenclaw students, the common room, the famous alumni, the head of the Ravenclaw house, the house ghost, relic and livery and so much more, even quizzes.

Personally, I think that buying this limited edition copy is worth it since you not only get the first book but you also get so many extras which I think is cool. It is not very expensive too which helps.fhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01281782885606839892noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5419083070463664834.post-73270414775809094112017-12-18T06:43:00.000-08:002017-12-18T06:43:20.811-08:00note to self review//note to self by connor franta//

Connor Franta is an American youtuber and an author of the book 'A Work in Progress' and 'Note to Self'

So this book isn't actually a proper book. It's a book with photographs that Connor took. It also has poems and short stories in it. Even though it's not a book book, I still really enjoyed reading and flipping through the photographs.

The book is filled with poetry that Connor has written, some happy, some heartbreaking and some sad. It is also filled with short stories or excerpts of his experiences. It's such a laid back coffee table book that you could read while you're in a cafe or eating breakfast kind of thing. The photographs that Connor took are mesmerizing. It's very detailed and it just looks amazing. The writings and the pictures combined make for such a good book and I really enjoyed reading it.fhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01281782885606839892noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5419083070463664834.post-8685358953795839342016-08-19T05:44:00.002-07:002016-08-19T05:44:46.487-07:00Girl Online // summary+review//girl online by zoe sugg//

Girl Online is about Penny Porter, she is British and she has panic attacks. But when an embarassing video of her goes viral, she has to overcome her panic attacks. And she does that by frequently posting on her anonymous blog, Girl Online. When Penny's family takes her to New York, she meets Noah, who has a secret that Penny doesn't know yet, but she finds out his secret in a way that she did not expect.

So yes, this book was written by Zoe Sugg, who is a female British youtuber with 11 million+ subscribers, she has released a sequel called Girl Online: On Tour.

I think this book is pretty good although it is somewhat predictable and cheesy. I enjoyed this book and it is a great read for younger teens around the age of 11 or 12. Since Zoe herself has panic attacks, she can portray Penny's experience greatly. Overall, I like this book and I would rate it as a solid 8/10 and I couldn't wait for the third book!fhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01281782885606839892noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5419083070463664834.post-7333524343772455662016-07-14T02:54:00.000-07:002016-07-14T02:55:36.350-07:00All The Bright Places // summary+review//all the bright places by jennifer niven//

This book is about a girl named Violet and a boy named Finch, they meet on the ledge of the bell tower at their school. They are so different yet the pair of them team up on a class project to discover the wonders of their state.

Quoted from the official book summary: "Soon it's only with Violet that Finch can be himself. And it's only with Finch that Violet forgets to count away the days and starts living them. But as Violet's world grows, Finch's begins to shrink."

This book is such a heart-wrenching, sad book. It has stories of grief and love. This book, I think, is a great book for people that are finding a reason to be here since Finch himself is managing to find something that will keep him here, alive, and awake. I recommend this book for teenagers that are finding a great contemporary read. I enjoyed reading this book so much and absolutely loved it. I give this book a 11/10. :)

So, this story is about a boy and his friend that encountered a witch meeting. They were caught by the witches and are both turned into mice. They had to survive in the hotel as mice and has to get rid of the witches. They eventually get rid of the witches but unfortunately, they can't be turned back into people which is a bummer since the boy's friend's mum is not fond of mice. Eventually, they learn to be mice and do what normal mice does.

For me, this book is really interesting and unpredictable. The only thing I don't like is the fact that the main character doesn't have a name so I just made up my own name for him hahaha. I recommend this book for elementary students. I give this book a 8.5/10 yayay.fhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01281782885606839892noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5419083070463664834.post-15517176597775103142015-10-17T01:17:00.000-07:002015-10-17T01:24:23.286-07:00Before I Fall // book summary+review//before i fall by lauren oliver//

So, this book is about a girl named Samantha Kingston. On a Friday night, she goes to a party with her two best friends. After they were done with the party, they were driving home when suddenly the tires skid on the wet road and suddenly the car is flipping of the road. The catch, she wakes up the next day and she learns loads of things and repeats the day for 7 more times.

For me, this book is really interesting, like it makes me not want to put the book down, like I stayed up all night reading this book haha. It is also well planned, it doesn't have plot holes which I hate with a passion. It is also detailed which makes me feel like I'm there with Sam. This book is probably for teens and I rate it 8/10 yay.fhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01281782885606839892noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5419083070463664834.post-82634541370375583232015-07-27T00:58:00.000-07:002015-07-27T00:58:04.416-07:00Paper Towns summary+reviewAYY so, the magnificent book Paper Towns by John Green is going to be a movie yaasss. I've finished this book like a long time ago but I have just reviewed it lol.

So, like all John Green books, there are loads to expect from him. In this book, Quentin Jacobsen has the most amazing miracle, being next door to the adventurous Margo Roth Spiegelman. She loved mysteries so much, that she became one.

What happened was in the dead of night, Margo came into Q's room by climbing into his window wearing black face paint. She told him to wake up because they are going on an adventure for revenge. It has 11 parts in total. In those 11 parts, Q realized that there is so much more to life and he also said how Orlando is a very pretty town. Margo disagreed saying it was a paper town, where everything is flimsy and fake.

The very next day, Margo wasn't at school, that was okay because it was a big night. Q started to worry when she didn't come for a week. Q then realised that Margo left him some clues of where she is. And so, he went on a roadtrip with his friends, Ben, Radar and Lacey (although in the movie there was Angela.) Wanna see if they can figureout where Margo is? Read Paper Towns then, you won't regret it.

This book is soooo interesting, like all other John Green books. And the road trip part has an interesting format, it is divided into hours. This book is for tweens and teens as they try to figure out where Margo is also. Overall, it is a great book. I heard the movie was good too but, I haven't watched it.

So yesh, byeyeyeyeeyfhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01281782885606839892noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5419083070463664834.post-21385327760317854092015-06-22T00:14:00.001-07:002015-06-22T00:14:59.817-07:00The Maze Runner book review+summarylong time no see.. so this review will be on the book The Maze Runner by James Dashner. It is a trilogy and it also has 2 other books which are prequels. The second book is The Scorch Trials, the third is The Death Cure. The first prequel is The Kill Zone and the second is The Fever Code which will be published by the end of 2015.

It all starts one day when Thomas wakes up inside a steel lift. When it comes to a stop, he is surrounded by 50 boys more or less. He finds out that in the Glade -as the boys like to call it- there are no girls at all. In one day, he finds out that they are surrounded by brick walls that inside of those walls is a maze. One of the most important rules in the Glade is that no one is allowed to go in the maze except if they are a runner. One day, when Alby -the leader of the Glade- goes inside to investigate with Minho, one of the runners, to investigate a dead griever -a mechanical animal that stings people-. When they do not come back before the sun sets, when the brick walls close, everyone becomes worried. They were seen when one of the walls are about to close, Thomas decided that he would go break one of the most important rules, going inside the maze, to save Minho and Alby. After that act, he discovers that no glader has survived one night inside the maze and that to get out of the Glade, they will have to go through the maze, where the grievers live.

Really interesting story right? To find out if Thomas survives, read more in The Maze Runner. I recommend this book if you like Divergent by Veronica Roth. I have read all TMR books except for The Fever Code which hasn't come out yet. After reading the books, the pieces will fit together and it becomes much more interesting than just reading one book from the series.
There will be lots of pansycakes, to show that I'm not, I'm making this review! I've read all 3 and Allegiant is so sad :( but lets get on with the review. :)

Divergent is about this teenage girl named Tris Prior. she lives in a faction named Abnegation. There are 5 factions in all and each faction has different personalities. The first faction is Abnegation, where Tris is from. Abnegation people are selfless as of the meaning of the word Abnegation. The second faction is Dauntless, where people there are brave, while Amity is peaceful. Erudite is intelligent and Candor is honest.
Every 2nd day in the 3rd month, all 16 year olds from each faction is required to have an aptitude test in which they figure out which faction they belong in. When it was Tris' turn, her results were inconclusive. She displayed traits for Erudite, Abnegation and Dauntless. People who get these results are called Divergent.
The next day is the choosing ceremony and Tris chose Dauntless. She has to complete initiation to be a dauntless member.
Want to know if she makes it? Find out by reading the divergent series! its a very nice book and it surely wont make you stop.fhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01281782885606839892noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5419083070463664834.post-55323636903458971692013-12-20T00:31:00.002-08:002013-12-20T00:31:48.730-08:00book review: The Fault In Our Stars by John GreenThe Fault In Our Stars

This book is very interesting for children and teens to read although it is very long I recommend it. It makes you don't want to stop like you HAVE to read it. So, lets get on about the book.

This book starts with a girl named Hazel Grace that has cancer. She needs to breath with a pump meaning she has lung cancer. She went to cancer kid support group to see other kids with cancer. There she met a boy named Augustus Waters who has osteosarcoma. They met by Augustus' friend named Isaac who has eye cancer. One of his eyes had been cut when he was a kid, so he has to have surgery that next week. Augustus and Hazel became good friends and they always talked about things. One day, Hazel told Augustus that she liked Peter Van Houten, an author and that her dream is to meet Peter. Augustus ended up emailing Peter's assistant and his assistant told Augustus that they could meet Peter in Holland. Augustus told Hazel about this and Hazel became very happy. Unfortunately, Hazels mom wouldn't let Hazel go. After days of begging, Hazels mom let Hazel go with Augustus for 3 days. When they went to Peters apartment, they found out that Peter isnt what they expected. Peter was an alcoholic which made Hazel sad. 2 days later, they went home. Augustus suddenly became very sick after 1 week, he died. Hazel was surprised that Peter came to his funeral Hazel swooped Peter away and Hazel became very sad. funeral. Hazel was mad at him because she never wanted him to come. Want to know what happened to Hazel? Then read The Fault In Our Stars by John Green.fhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01281782885606839892noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5419083070463664834.post-62899074971390867292012-07-16T03:39:00.003-07:002012-07-16T03:39:20.781-07:00did you know?-SCIENCE<span style="font-family: "Courier New",Courier, monospace;">Do you know what is a supertaster?
